About the Lecture

What makes a story work? How do writers design characters, build worlds, and turn ideas into scripts for the screen? With a case study on Netflix’s Kohrra, Gunjit Chopra & Diggi Sisodia, who are the co-creators and writers of the same, will unpack how worlds and characters are built. This is a perfect lecture for anyone curious about narratives, character, and culture!


About the speakers

Diggi Sisodia (Digvijay)

Diggi (Digvijay) is the co-creator and co-writer of the Netflix original KOHRRA, alongside Gunjit Chopra and Sudip Sharma. The series ranked in Netflix’s Top 10 across 17 countries, won five Filmfare Awards (including Best Story and Best Screenplay), and was named by NME among the Top 10 Asian Shows of 2023.

An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Diggi trained at UCLA and made his feature debut with MAYA, which premiered at major international festivals, won the People’s Choice Runner-Up at TIFF, and earned him the Remy Martin Emerging Director of the Year award. The film was later recommended by Martin Scorsese for screening at New York’s Museum of the Moving Image.

He went on to create BROWN, the only Indian series showcased at Berlinale 2023, and recently wrote and directed CABBAGE for Sohum Shah Films. Diggi is currently attached to direct Ratcatcher (Top 50, Academy Nicholl Fellowship) and is developing SOUTHALL with Gunjit Chopra. KOHRRA Season 2 is set to release on Netflix in February 2026.


Gunjit Chopra

is the co-creator and co-writer of the Netflix original KOHRRA, alongside Diggi Sisodia and Sudip Sharma. The series featured in Netflix’s Top 10 in 17 countries, won five Filmfare Awards (including Best Story and Best Screenplay), and was named by NME among the Top 10 Asian Shows of 2023.

He also wrote Amazon Studios’ PATAAL LOK (2020), winning Filmfare Awards for Best Story and Screenplay, with the series ranked by Variety among the Top 20 International Shows of 2020.

He was the dialogue writer on TAISH (2020) and has written/directed documentaries on Chamkila and Punjabi folk writer Parwana. He is currently developing SOUTHALL, a British drama-thriller, with Diggi Sisodia.

He, along with Diggi Sisodia, is also currently developing SOUTHALL, a British drama/thriller that explores the darker side of Southall in the last fifty years.
