What makes a play truly “great”? Is it the quiet force of the written word, or the electric charge of live performance?
In this lecture, Ashutosh Potdar examines the enduring power of drama and explores why the stage remains profoundly relevant even in our hyper-digital age. Moving from page to performance, he unpacks how great plays transcend time, language, and geography.
Drawing from both global and Indian dramatic traditions, this talk journeys across cultures to reveal how theatre continues to reflect our anxieties, aspirations, conflicts, and collective humanity.
Ashutosh Potdar is an award-winning Indian writer known for his one-act plays, full-length plays, poems, and short fiction.
